Looking at this, it’s impossible to understand just what the captain was doing taking a ship this big so close to shore. More here from The Atlantic.

BTW, I hate boats. Pictures like this don’t help. I don’t like sailing or fishing and I’ve never been on an ocean liner. I’ll do little booze cruises or other touristy stuff in flat water, but that’s it.
