Ghost On The Beach // The Insiders

The Insiders were (are?) a Chicago power-pop institution, a major influence on me when I was figuring out the difference between “playing guitar” and “being in a band.”

Listen to this turned up loud if you can. This sounds really good to me, maybe especially so lately. With all due respect to those who love it, and that appears to be everyone but me, much of what I hear that’s current just doesn’t rock. I need distorted guitars and cracking snare drums. I know it’s out there, but it does not appear to be very much in demand at the moment based on what I see people listening to on my internets and what I hear on the radio.
