Pee-Wee Baseball Kiss // The Good

As we’ve moved from the comforts of local, friendly, house league baseball to the more hostile, competitive travel league experience, my son has had exposure to a number of life lessons that I was hoping he wouldn’t get until later. I was more like 10 or 11 when confronted with these realities, and he’s a pretty young 8. He’s clearly processing it very differently than I did; maybe his relative naiveté is working in his favor. I will likely have more to say about it someday in a lengthy rumination on the Circle of Life, Baseball, Parenthood, and What It All Means. (Don’t worry, I’ll use a Read More link.)

Anyway, oddly enough, The Good had a song about the little league experience from the POV of the denizens of the south end of the bench.

Time now for us to suit up and head back to the field.

Hey batter batter, is there something the matter?
