It’s worse than annoying. It’s arguably making the problem worse.
Every time they serve that error page, they are potentially sending an extra 98K of data through their front end servers and over the wire. It’s the equivalent of announcing the boat is filling up with water by taking a piss in it and flapping your wang around while doing so.
I realize the front end servers are probably not the problem, and many browsers will have that image cached. But it’s still going out several thousand times per second during their increasingly frequent little vacations, and at a minimum this is extremely bad form.
Sober up, kids. This is the opposite of cute right now. No one out here is laughing.
